Jan Anderson-Pung

Native to New England, Jan grew up spending summers on Cape Cod and winters skiing Mt Whittier in Ossipee, NH, competing in ski racing throughout MA & NH.  In these experiences, she developed a strong sense of teamwork, dedication and a love of fun!   At 20, she hand-built her first home, a log cabin in Maine, and so began an early passion for real estate.  In the 1980s Jan became involved in the fledgling sport of windsurfing and moved to Maui, Hawaii, “the windsurfing capital of the world” where she competed in and taught the exciting sport.  She also taught skiing with Aspen Ski Company, Colorado, voted Rookie of the Year. 

Preparing to purchase a home on Maui, Jan obtained her Hawaii Real Estate License in 1994 and signed on with Stephens Realty, where her mentor, an Attorney, trained her to protect the interests of her clients first, above all else.  Working full-time in real estate, she obtained her Broker License in 2000 and in 2003 launched her own brokerage, UpCountry Realty, a "boutique style" referral-based company focusing on friendly, caring & professional service.  With her high ethical standards and 95% of clients coming from past client referrals, UpCountry Realty served Maui with aloha, for almost 20 years, specializing in residential Real Estate.   Jan and her agents helped hundreds of clients buy and sell properties, many of whom were repeat clients, and most of whom became friends. 

In 2021, Jan and her Maui ‘born and raised’ hubby Willie moved back to NH to be closer to family and have been loving life back in the 603!  Jan obtained her NH Real Estate Brokers license in 2023 and in early 2025 contracted to work as an Associate Broker with the esteemed Merrill Bartlett Group.  In meeting with Lynne Bartlett Merrill, Jan realized the parallel between MBG and her own company was astounding, and in this shared set of ideals, found the perfect brokerage to call home.  

Over the course of Jan’s long career, she has also purchased and sold her own properties, feeling that nothing makes her more sympathetic to the needs of her clients than going through the process herself.  She loves the outdoors: skiing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, golf, canoeing, etc. as well as theater and music.  She has also been a Recipe Tester on 3 internationally best-selling cookbooks, with a 4^th book launching in October 2025.
